Report: DeJuan Wheat new coach at Valley High School

It appears that former Louisville Cardinal DeJuan Wheat will be the next head coach at Valley High School. Wheat played at UofL from 1993-1997 and is the 2nd leading scorer in school history with 2,183 points. According to UofL, he is the only player in NCAA history to total 2,000 points (2,183), 450 assists (498), 300 three-pointers (323), and 200 steals (204).

Wheat will turn 43 in October, which just sounds ridiculous to me. He attended Ballard High School before playing at UofL. After college, Wheat spent about three seasons in the NBA before playing overseas until 2010.

As an Assistant Coach a Holy Cross High School, I look forward to us playing against Valley this year, just to be able to see one of my all-time favorite Cards on the other sideline.
