Week 3 of the NFL Preseason has concluded, so it’s time to check in and see how the former Louisville Cardinals played this week when it comes to Fantasy Football performances. One of our guys juked a defender nearly out of his shoes. You will want to see that!
Gary Barnidge – TE Cleveland Browns
Barnidge had 2 catches for 6 yards on 3 targets. Not big numbers, but he is still a solid TE 1 and is worth starting in your fantasy league. As I have said all along, keep in mind that Josh Gordon comes back after 4 games, which will surely take some targets away from Barnidge. If he has a good start to the season, sell high.
Josh Bellamy – WR Chicago Bears
Bellamy was tied for the team lead in targets with 8. This was the second straight week he was tied for the most targets. He caught 5 passes for 38 yards. He is still behind Alshon Jeffery, Kevin White, and Eddie Royal on the depth chart.
Teddy Bridgewater – QB Minnesota Vikings
Teddy was 12/16 for 161 yards and 1 touchdown with 0 interceptions. He was sacked 3 times and had 2 rushes for 21 yards. Here are his highlights from Sunday.
Teddy remains a decent fantasy option. He should be someone you can get in later rounds, unless you are playing with Louisville fans that want to gobble him up early.
Until he has a good line that can protect him, continue to look for a heavy dose of Adrian Peterson and check-downs to protect himself. He will be a better NFL QB than a fantasy QB this season.
Harry Douglas – WR Tennessee Titans
Douglas was not targeted in the passing game. He had 1 “rush” for 8 yards when Marcus Mariota scrambled and pitched it to him. At this point, Douglas still doesn’t have much fantasy value.
DeVante Parker – WR Miami Dolphins
Parker had 2 catches for 8 yards. He was targeted 4 times. As long as he can stay healthy, Parker will be one of the best young wide receivers in the league. We love him, and he is a Louisville boy, but I need to see a string of good and healthy games from DeVante before I get too high on him. He is a risk, but we know how good he can be.
Senorise Perry – RB Chicago Bears
Perry was waived this weekend. He did not play for the Bears on Saturday.
Bilal Powell – RB NY Jets
Powell carried the ball 4 times for 18 yards. To compare, Matt Forte got 10 carries in his first action this preseason. Powell also had 3 catches for 16 yards. Forte is still the clear starter, but Powell will have a role and he is worth a late round pickup, especially in PPR leagues.
Eli Rogers – WR Pittsburgh Steelers
If you were ahead of the game and snagged Eli Rogers a couple of weeks ago when I told you to, good job, and continue to listen. Eli has played his way into the #3 WR spot for the Steelers. This weekend, he caught 2 passes on 4 targets for 17 yards. We aren’t worried about those numbers though. Ben Roethlisberger played in 2 drives, and Rogers was the slot receiver on both drives. That is what we care about. When the rounds get late and no one remembers him, pick up Eli Rogers. What do you have to lose?
